SEAT Leon Cupra 1.8T - (AUQ)
Hi there, I've been having trouble with my Cupra recently. Out of no where the throttle just vanished, no response whatsoever.

TBS, APS, LAMBDA SENSORS
  • I looked under the car and saw 02 sensor wiring dangling down and it appeared as if it had been ripped apart.
  • I have replaced the throttle body and the accelerator pedal, however, still nothing.
  • A re-learn was also done on the throttle body but still nothing.
  • I'm going to replace the 02 sensors tomorrow to see if that remedies the issue but I very much doubt it.
  • After the 02 sensors, maybe another diagnosis, see if it throws anymore codes + another relearn/calibration/adaption.
Has anyone experienced anything alike this?

ECU
  • Pulled ECU out to look for any visible burning or anything, was clean and looked fine.
  • Car runs perfectly fine, no issues. Everything is operational, would it be the ECU internally?

DIAGNOSIS
I have had it diagnosed and the error codes are the following:
  • EPC light and traction control light permanently on
  • P1297 - Throttle valve pressure drop
  • P1631 - Accelerator pedal position sensor: signal too high
  • P1634 - Accelerator pedal position sensor 2: signal too high

Any form of help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi. Have you checked the accelerator sensor:

Also, see if this helps:

Hi there,

There is no codes on diagnostic tool for this so wouldn't assume it would be an issue
Out of curiosity where would the 'accelerator sensor' be found in engine bay/drivers side?
I have replaced the accelerator pedal and the sensor on it, throttle body and sensor on it, 02 sensors, still nothing.

Going to perform a re-learn/calibration today, see if it fixes the issue.
