We had 14 inches of snow on Sunday and then Monday temps got down to -13C and I drove it to work (20 miles) this morning trouble free, biggest problem I had was getting it up onto the drive yesterday, had to reverse it on for traction.

Did you have to switch the traction control off ???? The engine on my Cupra just died down to no revs

I do have winter tyres on mine and found it to be really well behaved.
Mixture of 5-6 inch fresh-ish snow, compacted snow and rutted roads over past couple of days and its been fine. Never felt like it wouldn't pull me through.

Triple-R front splitter does collect snow though as it ploughs through !!

Our roading authority has just revealed an exquisite new torture for us bikers. The basterds are gritting the roads when they melt in the heat, now we have the joy of riding on grit all year round.

This morning fresh snow. Be the first driving on it is bestthing.
Hate people who cant drive in snow. Due to poor driving skills or summer tyres.

Ibiza DSG 1.0 TSI here, first time ever I can get wheelspin on a 110PS car! Loving it!

Nah, I had some snow...on the roads (perhaps 2+inches max). Had summer Bridgestone RE050A tyres.

With a bit of slushing here and slushing there when driving with some 'cruching' snow noises...took me 10 mins to clear snow off my car with a credit card. Stupidly cleared snow down of the windscreen, and compacted it so it blocks the washers :(. Max speed was 30mph so nothing too dramatic.

Heads lights were easy, have Bi-xenons with washers, so one spray cleared the snow.

I had a bit of an incline to get out of the parking at the end of the road, fingered crossed, but it managed to climb up. although I already had some speed. If i had to start on the incline, I don't know.

Our 1.6Tdi DSG was poor to be honest. I managed to turn off traction control and stick it in M2 to get up the hill to us, but barely got going after the numpty in front (in a 4x4!) paniced and stopped. The Conti SP5 tyres are rated as piss poor in snow by AutoExpress, I have to agree. As its a company car, I'm not allowed to put on winter tyres, which would sort it right out.

I've got a set of 4 Michelin Crossclimates on my Leon and it's excellent in the snow.

Glad to Hear that farrar as I'm booked in to have a set of four Michelin Crossclimate plus tyres fitted to my Leon FR tomorrow and finally get rid of the horrible original Bridgestone Potenza's which I have never liked, but which have been on since new.

Am hoping that all the reports and reviews of the Crossclimates are true and hopefully be the best tyre choice to make.
