I'll start with my car history! Its quite a large list for my age (22), but I cant make my mind up so hey ho:

Started off many years ago (5 to be exact) with a Ford Escort LX 1.8TDi. My wanabe Cosworth! No pictures but you know what they look like!

Then on to bigger and better things with my 1.6L Renault Megane:

Modified the way a teenager does best, big alloys and loud exhaust!

Got bored of that so I decided to be sensible and purchase a 1.7L 57 plate Vauxhall Astra TDi. That didn't last long, 3 months later the turbo blew up :censored: ... so on we go again.

For some reason to this day I am yet to understand I bought a Toyota Avensis ... yes a Toyota Avensis at the age of 19. I'm not saying they're bad cars, they're actually really comfy and its a Toyota so you know ... reliability, but at 19 years old! Anyway so ye, that didn't last long either as a few months later my local garage had a Y reg Toyota Celica for sale with only 50k on the clock!

I somehow managed to stay happy with that for 2 years! Then decided I need more power which is when this beauty came into my life:

My Honda Civic Type R GT FN2! So much fun! ... but to expensive to run ... So here it is in all its glory! Just bought it yesterday and yes I know, it needs one hell of a clean! My SEAT Leon PD170!

Its got it's fair share of scuffs on the alloys and some minor scratches on the body work but I'm happy with it.

Mods wise I'll be keeping it cheap for the near future as funds are tight atm.

Thanks for looking :D

Will look so much better once its had a good clean and polish.

Mods wise, some cheap and easy things to do are, spraying the grille surround, mirror caps, stubby aerial and swap all the interior bulbs, number plate bulbs and side lights for LED's.

Needs the exhaust changing too as it looks a little lost in the cut out.

Have a look in my readers ride thread in my signature if you want some ideas.

Thanks for the reply! I've looked at yours and it's given me a few fair ideas, love what you've done with it! When you say exhaust, you mean the tip? Is it standard to have the one oval tip? As all the other FR's I've seen have the dual tips.

Also what bulbs do I buy to replace my headlights, sidelights and main beam with the white light like you've done? Also what bulbs do I need to replace my interior lights ... and how many? This kind of stuff really confuses me.

I'm also interested in the lighting upgrades.

(Nice car BTW, love the colour!)

Finally got around to giving it a nice clean and polish today. Looks a lot nicer.

I noticed a few chipping marks and scratches whilst doing it, can anyone recommend a good scratch/chip remover?

I'm also looking to replace the exhaust tip in the near future as the current one looks a little out of place. Any recommendations again?

Thanks!

Welcome! Looks a lot better after that clean I must admit! As for the lights you'll need 4x501 smd lights (2 for the sidelights and 2 for the interiors) and also 2 36-37mm festoon bulbs all of which are on ebay for very cheap. I bought mine from the seller partsulike_co_uk and are holding up well, super bright if thats what you after

Hi, thanks for the reply. What about dipped beam etc? Am I able to change them? and is four bulbs enough for the whole interior?

Thanks!

The 4 bulbs I said will cover the interior unless you want to do the boot light too then that's 42mm festoon bulb aswell

As for the headlights, dipped is H7 bulbs and full beam is H1, foglights are H3 if you want to get involved with them too

So updates have been slow due to not having any funding after valentines day then my girlfriend having her birthday 3 days after  . So just a small update:

Fitted some new sidelights. Went with the Phillips BlueVision Ultra:

They were cheap and give off a fairly nice white light.

My next step will be fitting my Bee Sting aerial that should be here tomorrow, then looking into upgrading my dipped and main beam. Been looking at Osram Nightbreakers Unlimited to finish off the nice white look! Also looking into changing the climate control unit to the FL version if I can find one.

Another small update! My Bee Sting aerial arrived today:

(Sorry pictures are so dark, weather is crap up here in "sunny" North Wales so had to keep the car in the garage)

Looks a lot better for such a small price! Signal so far is perfect, if not better, aswel.

UPDATE: The smallest of small updates, and nothing to do with the car itself. The SEAT logo on my key fob was all naff so I purchased a new one! A naff key means a naff car ;) . I've said naff too many times now and it sounds strange ... naff  :

Quick update:

Had an SMD conversion the other day, got the majority of the interior LED lights around the radio, climate control unit and wing mirror positioning switch changed from the standard red light to a cleaner white light. Looks much neater imo and matches the speedometer now.

I've also been busy wrapping the wing mirrors in black carbon. Starting to peel already so I'll be spraying them gloss black soon. I'll try and get pictures of both of these updates up by tonight after I finish work.

And finally, a new addition to the family:

SEATS.jpg

My girlfriends new car next to mine. We'll have matching tracksuits next  .

Looks sweet mate top job, loving the interior smd lighting also.[B)]

Was it a nightmare to do?

Cheers

Craig

Cheers pal. As for a nightmare to do, I'm not sure if your asking about the smd conversion or number plate bulbs so I'll answer both.

The number plate bulbs we're really easy, just unscrew the old ones, replace bulbs, screw back in.

As for the smd conversion I didn't do it personally, I helped a friend of mine who does it as a business on the side. If you know how to solder it's just a case of removing everything (radio etc) and replacing the LEDs inside. The hardest part was removing everything, especially the climate control fascia as the air vents just fall apart.

Nice looking motor mate, really like the white led conversion on the dash:thumbup:

Thanks pal, it goes really well with the white speedometer dials. Wasn't too sure about doing it at first as I thought it might be to bright, but after seeing pics from a thread lurking the forums somewhere I was sold.
