2017 Ibiza Technology radio muting

As above , the head unit has muted the volume and the button on the steering wheel doesn’t release the mute.

I have tried the reset , ie holding volume knob down until screen resets, and this has worked in the past, but doesn’t work now.

any ideas ?

I have a vague memory that this is a common problem - sold my Ibiza a while back but I did have to fit a second-hand radio off Ebay - think it was volume-related. Maybe worth disconnecting your battery for 30 mins? Obviously only if you have the radio code.
