Hi, I'm looking at a private car 1.5 TSI 130 EVO FR Leon to replace my company car which is a 1.0 TSI Leon, both 2019 models.

However I'm finding the 1.5 feels a bit lazy in comparison to the 1.0 despite a bit More BHP? Is this normal for the engine? It feels like it revs quite slow although is torquey, turbo seems to finally do something around 2500.

Don't get me wrong it still makes progress but doesn't feel like it's doing anything. I know there was a problem with this engine early on but should that have been rectified?

Or could there be something else afoot?

The 130 is quite different engine to the 150.
Think of the 130 as the economy option - optimised for fuel efficiency including using miller cycle and very high compression ratio for a turbo engine of something like 12.5:1. Also uses a VNT (variable nozzle turbo) first use in a mass produced petrol car, and probably gearing optimised for efficiency.

I think mine does seem characteristic of what people that initially got there's in 2019 were like . Press accelerator down at low speeds and it hesitates before it starts picking up.

I did phone up local dealer to see if I could bring it down for an update to software (or at least check) but they didn't seem to know what I meant so might phone head office and see if can get anything done that way

These EA211 family of engines, and probably other turbo charged petrol engines do “wet” their induction pipes, but if there is not excessive “use” of oil, then that is as good as it gets. There seems to be 2 paths for scavenging crankcase gasses, so that could make fitting an oil catch tank tricky.
