Audi S3 Strutbrace help

Hi Guys,

Any chance you can answer the following:

1) Does the LCR come standard with the S3 lower front strutbrace?

2) What year S3 would I need to get the correct upper front strutbrace to fit my 2004 LCR?

1) Yes the LCR has a std lower strut brace fitted from the factory

2) Any as far as I know it has never changed design whether in S3 210 or 225 guise.

It will be fiddly to fit round the bonnet lifter but will go with some patience and wiggling

How much does an S3 upper strut brace cost?

I saw one on fleabay went for £26 + £8 postage, missed it as I was working!!

Another one sold on ebay this morning for £42 + £12.50 postage, didn't bid as I'm pretty sure I've read on here they're only about £50 new??

Can anyone advise me on a price for a new one, or what I should pay for a used one if I can get hold of one?

Does the lower brace become the lowest point (structural) on the car ?

these will fit all leons
and are well worth the money
iirc, brand new from audi they are <50
lower brace was about 25 all in including riv nuts and bolts

you asked about fitting kit for the s3 brace, iirc it was 6x or 8x m8's, nuts and washers. awesome gti fitted mine for 45+vat

If you get the OMP one it does force the plastic undertray to sit a little low, i have to avoid driving in the gutters on backroads otherwise it sounds like i have a small dog barking under my car.

Word of caution to anyone fitting an upper S3 brace, the strut towers on the leon are VERY THICK, i let a garage fit mine without knowing this and after seeing the hassle they had i'm glad i did
