my 2p's worth.
personally... yes i do slightly miss the for sale section however... its not essential for my use of this site as there are many other websites where you can sell/buy stuff (egay, gumtree, other forums).
I fully understand the sites reasons behind not having a for sale section as any tom **** or harry can sign up, post pictures of items, give address's, take money and not send the goods and vice versa, people can buy goods, recieve them and claim they never recieved them. The task of monitoring this would be incredible to fully prove all the details are correct. As with most people if sales went pear shapped then i would go to the site that provided the platform for the sale as they are the next best person to try and recover the deal/costs, as no doubt the seller wont respond/details you have are incorrect.
as with ebay/sites specifically set up for this kind of thing you will have teams/people there who specifically deal with this, unlike this site which is run as a hobby by a few people in their spare time which i am pretty sure they dont want to waste time fixing other peoples bad sales, so if it is the sites owners wish not to want the hassel related with classified then its their choice, there are plenty more sites to go to for buy sell stuff if you are willing to trust people.
with regards to allowing awesome to sell things in their classifieds on behalf of an employee, I again fully understand why they are allowed to over all of us normal members.
yes the sale is still between 2 individuals and not an individual and a company but in saying that surely if awesome who have been a long standing company with a more than happy customer base (i cant ever remember hearing a bad story about them) are happy to risk their name to
help an employee sell items then it shows that they trust the employee not to screw over a buyer and im sure if the worst did happen they would do their best to rectify the situation as they wouldnt want their name associated with a bad sale. plus in this case you are likely to go straight to awesome if the sale goes t*ts up over scn staff thus freeing them of the burden.
and as previously mentioned the information for contacting awesome is readily available and can be checked easily to ensure it is correct where as if 'gac' (member above my post - apologies for picking you) gave me his/her address i wouldnt have a fricking clue
how to ensure that was right other than driving there and speaking to them in person.
