Driving home there and suddenly my car lost nearly all of its power.

You put your foot down and acc very slowly.

No grunt at all.

when stationary and out of gear and gently feather the accelerator it goes a put rough for the 1st couple of hundred revs.

The car is running a bit rough when stationary.

The engine warning light was flashing.

Its a 2003 Seat Ibiza 1.4 Sports

does the 1.4 have coilpacks?

Thanks for your reply.

Sorry I don't know what coilpacks are.

The car is the 1.4 (1390cc) 100bhp sports

does it sound like a tractor, like its misfiring?

sounds like the coilpack has failed, check your plugs and leads

It has been misfiring a bit lately.

I am lost under the bonnet.

How long would it take to fix as I am going to a wedding tomorrow and need it for 12am to drive to the wedding.

Of all the days for it to happen

its not a repair as such, its replacing the coil packs (as i said, if your car has them) get to a dealers if you can, most carry the odd one or two you could use, bout 25-30 quid each and youll probably only need one.

If it's a coil pack they'll be free as they have the 5 year warranty on them. As it's a 2003 car it might be under the full warranty.
