Cupra Calipers (paint)

Sorry if this has been covered many times before.

As we all know the paint on the calipers of the cupra models is rubbish and mine have pealed really badly.
I plan to refurb them with caliper paint, but being very carfull to keep the seat sport on the front brembos.

Has anyone done this before and is there any advice that i need. Also what is the best paint on the market that would give a quality finish.

Thanks

Gavstr :D

I asked the same question about a week ago.

Two options. High Temp Lac, but as your paid is pealing, JAPLAC from B&Q/Homebase £7. Search for JAPLAC

I use Dupli-Color caliper paint. Top stuff, bit of a mission to repaint though, but well worth it. Doesn't black and the brake dust just whipes off!!! Hope this helps

I'll be using Dupli-Color spray paint when I refurb my seat sport calipers. Mine haven't peeled in the slightest but they have lost the redness (dirty pink). I reckon it will be possible to mask off each letter as they are raised, then use autosol to polish the letters up and lacquer over the top.
I'm only doing the outside viewable half though as the rest of the calipers are mint.

On Briskoda people use sSmooth Green Hammerite to repaint Furby vRS callipers. I am always sceptical about using it as I don't know the temperature range of Hammerite paints.

Folia Tec produce specialist calliper paints. You can buy them at places like Awesome GTI http://www.awesome-gti.com/, Demon Tweeks etc.

by the way the front calipers are AP racing not brembo's ;) i did mine, basically give them a good clean, try and get them to be free of any black or diry marks. i laquered over them and that brought the gloss colour back to life.
i also painted a set with some paint from halfords but its some german make. comes with caliper cleaner, colour and hardening laquer, paint is good for abour 300 degrees!! was around £30 iirc, and looks great

Thanks for all the help people, i'm really liking the idea of masking the calipers and spray painting with duplicolour as the last time i painted my calipers on my old car it was hasel to try to get every bit painted with a brush.
