Hi everyone,

Just noticed the other day when it was a bit colder than usual, that my car engine was making a very weird clacking noise.

It's the 1.4 e-hybrid.

Until it reaches temperature stays rev'd up to about 1.2k rpm which is normal, but then once it gets back to idle it starts making this very weird/unnatural clacking noise for a brief moment and sometimes constantly. Today since it's a bit warmer, I can't hear it very loud, but still present if I'm in gear and taking my foot of acceleration at low speed and let it go by itself. Is this normal?

I attached a couple audio files and I can get maybe a video recording if you guys think it's useful.

I have no warning lights up and last service/checkup was back in October.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I might phone the dealership.

Many thanks in advance!

Apologies, I just realized the files were not shared publicly.
They should be working now.

Thanks!

I took it back to the dealership and the technician there said it's normal so... I don't know.

It is not normal, probably not a functional issue, still it is the HPFP that produce the unusually noise.
Look at this video, starting from sec 50,I'm pretty sure it is the same issue

Even if the engine drops out and the wheels fall off the dealer will tell you 'it's normal, they are supposed to do that'.

You need to go with evidence and examples of the actual fault, funny noises won't get any response until the part totally breaks and it's obvious - even then you can often expect an arguement on whether the warranty covers it.

It's the reason I'd never buy another car from the dealership themselves, you can cut them and their profit for poor service out completely,
