I've mainly been dealing with an old guy at the Derby dealership on Pride Park up to this point but after a recent visit, I've decided they're :censored: ! They're parts counter only seems to have the one guy who doesn't have a cue what he's on about, has to phone Seat tech support every time you ask him a question and quite simply....just isn't bothered about any form of customer service!

So, I feel the time is right to try and find another place to spend my money? Any ideas? Any recommendations?

Hi Dougie

I've had a few experiences with my LC in Nottingham, had a major service at Bob Sherwin VAG specialist thinking I'd save some money but it was £500 so wish I had kept up my Seat history instead of taking it there. Very good service and nice guys but was hoping for bit more of a saving. Had it serviced at local VW garage in Daybrook this time round and they couldn't care less about anything to do with me and the car. In between the services I took it to Willoughby Seat in Beeston/Chilwell a couple of times for some bits to be done and found them really helpful. Can't remember the name of the service/parts chap but he was very knowledgeable and helpful and the service receptionist was too. Heard very good things about Autotechnik VAG specialist too in Dunkirk

Here's a tip if you're a 'Pride Parker'. Just before you get to the SEAT garage, on the left is a VAG parts shop, I think it's called Trade VAG parts or something. I think it's attached to the VW garage rather than the SEAT one? You can only see a door on the side of the building and a small sign above it, so it's easy to miss. They might say trade but they cover private as well. The guys in there are spot on, I've spoke to three different people and they are all really knowledgeable and helpful. My mate had a secondary water pump leaking and the guy actually came out to the car, had a look, made sure it was the actual water pump he needed, looked us up a price, and sorted us out. I actually felt guilty when we had to decline the price (£150 I think!). And when I was after coil packs, they were willing to provide me with local dealer stock and contact numbers, and I'd not even bought anything from them.

I really can't stand anyone in the SEAT dealer themselves, they are so obnoxious its unbelievable. It's almost like a Mercedes dealer, but at least they're a bit more willing to kiss a55 when it's needed. The woman on their parts and service reception wouldn't sell us an oil filter and sump plug without handing over chassis and VIN numbers. The guys at the trade counter just looked it up off the reg number and got us sorted in seconds.

Must admit, on the advice of you guys, l went to the Beeston Seat garage instead and spoke to a guy called Wayne who was fantastic! Really helpful, top bloke and more than willing to go out of his way for me! :)

Highly recommend the Beeston one instead of the very uninterested so and so's at the Derby garage any day of the week!
