Its fantastic!! Read on another posting that there is a recall on the DSG Ibiza's. Anyone got any details about this? Can you ask if going t a dealer?

Cheers

I have searched on the internet and emailed Seat. There is not a recall for the new ibiza. The last one was in 2005 to replace some minor parts. However i have read that an update for dsg ibiza will be launched later this year.
Nothing to worry about. The engine and transmission have been used for a long time with no problem also from vw. The dsg ibiza did 750.000 miles on tests with no problems.

Hi Ian,

Nice car!
Tell me more about the dsg. Does it change when you don't want it to, even in manual? I originally posted that I was worried about the dsg and most of the replies said it was great and then one has said that they are changing back to manual because of lack of control. Therefore I'd really value your opinion.

Cheers
Paul.

I own a dsg and i can shift to whatever gear i want in manual. It will only interfere when the revs are too low for example when you stop at a red light it will automaticaly shift to first. Also when you reach the redlines it will shift to protect the engine.

It works as good as manual box, in fact changes faster and smoother than most of us mortals can change a manual, even better, no clutch pedal to mess about with.
I've read several reviews about DSG and no other auto, tiptronic etc box can touch it.
I did try the Alfa Selespeed in a 147 a few years ago and that was truelly awful, took ages for it to change gear. Tried a DSG in the Mk5 Golf and that was a revelation in gearboxes, I can see all cars having this system in the future.
Best for you to have a test drive of a DSG car, any car.

I've seen the new Polo now and it's a cracking design as well, albeit looking like a small Golf Mk6. The Ibiza undoubtebly is a unique design which I prefer and there wont be millions of them driving around, definitly a plus n my book.

If you want a unique car and like vw polo, get the new polo gti. It will have the 1.4 tsi with 180ps and dsg like the new cupra.
