hi, I'm looking for suggestions. Have a 1.2 Tdi ecomotive 2012 that smokes heavily at intermittent times. I say intermitttent cos I cant get it to smoke when I want, and smokes as soon as I dont want it to.
Wont smoke at cold, idles well.
Only smokes after engine is significantly hot that fan kicks in, doesnt need to be a hot day but if fan runs due to sitting in traffic, its burning oil out of exhaust and plenty of smoke.
Injectors had been leaking, thought it could be the problem and have now been changed for new.
If turbo was going then oil would show in intercooler, but not alot of oil there. As fans kick in, So I'm expecting a scenario with a valve or piston rings heating up faster then burning oil only when hot.
Or could it be something simple?
Can you do a compression test when hot?
