ibiza fr 2005 - lack of light

i'm sure this issue is well known
but at night the interior fells too dark
no ashtray light,no trunk light , glovebox = complete darkness

has anyone found any solution to this problem?

hi there,

interior light wise, retrofit the VW W8 light which gives red ambient lighting (cost around £45), you can also retro fit the glove box light (around £15)

I bought an LED festoon bulb off ebay, its is xenon white and makes a massive difference for only a few quid.

what do you mean when you say "retro fit the glove box light" there is mk4 that came with glove box light from the dealer? when can i find this unit?

luna fr , getting the led is not a problem , the problem is i don't where to connect the + and - to power on the led .
there is any guide here ?

all the gloveboxes have the blanking plate for the light. feel in the top of the glove box and you should feel the blacking plate that you cut out. then you need to order part numbers

1J0 973 119 Housing (1)
000 979 133 Wire (2)
000 979 131 Wire (2)

hook the - to the metal of the dash and the + to the live on the back of the radio.

that's may be 15 quids in UK but can cost a fortune here in israel

i think in the UK only the Sportrider came with the glovebox light, and as Steve says they all have a blanking plate at the top
