Jumping Out of Reverse

has anybody found what the cause of this problem is, i've only found 1 thread about it, but no fix..... is it a new box?

Mine jumps out of reverse quite visciously, even when i'm holding it in. The last time it did it badly, it ripped the whole rubber mount from the rear of the engine, £160 to get it fixed.!

Please......does anybody have a fix or even a cause, why its doing it.

gearbox has had it mate, new baulkring or whatever its called, mine did it in reverse then als grinded 1st and 2nd, unfortunaltely these boxes have a habbit of doing it. Saying that depending on gearbox code they are only around 50 for a scrappy spare.

how difficult to swap the box over though ? i need a replacement too

days work if you have a hayes, hundred or two quid for half a days work for a mechanic, drive shafts etc have to come out.

yup new box, had that with my last mk2 cupra and a mates mk3 golf gti

ahh jesus, i just replaced the cluth too, the lever in the gearbox was fractured and the plastic thing whatever it is had broken, total failure! nightmare, thanks though m8
