Hi Everyone

Hopefully a fairly straightforward one to answer.

I've had my FR Sport now just over three weeks and so far am very pleased with it.

However, I've just had to have a new front tyre due to a puncture. Sods law! Anyway, when I checked the pressures on the other tyres, I noticed that the rear tyres have been inflated to 41PSI, and the front ones to 36PSI. This seems odd to me as the sticker on the door pillar states 36PSI all round when not loaded, and 41PSI all round with a fully loaded car. Also, looking at the car, the front tyres do look a little 'squashed' compared with the rear tyres. I'm guessing more weight at the front with the engine.

Anyway, I would really appreciate any thoughts on this. Should I lower them all to 36PSI or increase all to 41PSI? Just seems odd that the dealer has different front and rear.

Oh, the tyres are Bridgestone 225/40 R18

Kind regards

Mike

Hi Mike, mine too are Bridgestone 225/40/r18. Possibly better to follow the pressure stick on the door, mine says 36psi as well, some people say that this is the max pressure setting that is shown on the sticker, and you can adjust it a bit lower if you want. I cannot imagine having 41psi front/rear, it would be tooo harsh.

I was thinking in lowering the pressure a bit to reach the comfort zone however. I do find bridgestones to be kinda harsh on the road.

@Michael Siggers tyre pressure sticker might not be relevant to your car as recommended pressures can vary depending on factors such as body type and engine size etc.
I have the 5 door hatch, 1.4 FR Tech 125bhp with 18” wheels fitted with Bridgestone tyres 225/40/R18. I‘m a newbie, have searched and would be nice if anyone has the same spec.
