Leon Gauge cluster replacement HELP NEEDED

Hi all, just bought a second hand gauge cluster for my Leon cupra, unfortunately they're from a diesel, I have replacement petrol paper inserts, but just wandering if I put the paper petrol "gauges" on the diesel clocks and obviously connect them to my petrol car will they work properly?

They'll plug in and power up but the scaling will be wrong on the gauges.
It's possible to convert from TDI to petrol and vice versa by flashing the eeprom with the correct files but in all honesty if you're not capable of doing this yourself its quicker, cheaper and easier to source another set of clocks.

I have a full version of VCDS if this would work? I'm pretty capable with computers and coding.
