Looking to buy a mk1 leon, is there anywhere i can find out the service intervals and whats due at that interval ? Will help when looking at cars and their milage, IE if i bought one just below 60k what would it be due etc.

Cheers in advance guys.

(looking at the TDI 130 and the TDI 150)

I think they are 10K intervals, but the 60K service is an expensive one, as it requires the cambelt changing. I've got my 60K coming up and have read on here that people have paid prices ranging from £400-£600+ depending on who did the work for them.

Jeese louise, thats quite expensive ! See..im not sure whether i should buy one at around 80k, and hope its had it done, or buy one at a lower milage, around 50k.

Maybe look for one that's just over 60K but make sure it's had it done, or you could look to buy one just under 60K miles, but just know that it's going to need that service doing, and maybe use it as a tool to haggle the price with.

I think once it's had that all the others are relatively cheap (£150 ish) for a while.

Are these stealership prices ? My fathers a mechanic, as are most of his/my friends, so whilst ide like to retain the seat service history ( wouldnt really matter seeing as it would be out of warranty anyway ) ide be in two minds as of what to do. Could do with finding out what is due at each step in the service if thats possible, anybody point me in the right direction ? Like ive said before it will help/influence my buying decision !

some may say lala land....
they are every 10k and yes they do vary in price, but this is region to region and dealer to dealer
seeif you have a known vag independent/specialist nearby and ask them, ask them for hapy people numbers to confirm

60k or 4yrs for cambelt & water pump is an option but generally done as easier that way

mine 04 80k and only changed:
x4 glowplugs @15 each
coolant temp sensor
cambelt & water pump
both done by garage so prices were silly

tyres are about £65 a corner for falken or toyo - had both and very happy with them

So if i get one just under 60k i need to be budgeting £400+ for the service ? Couldnt see a cambelt and pump costing that much though ? unless its a stupid labour charge.. ? Seeing as its out of warranty ide buy the parts which cost how much? and get my father or a friend of ours to fit them (im a competant bike mechanic, never touched cars though).

Is 60k the main major one then ? Any idea what say..50k, 70k and 80k consist of ?

yes 60k is big one and then every 60k after that
10k is minor; oil & filter / fuel filter / air filter - usual stuff to keep her running
every 2yrs is brake fluid - i paid 50 all in last time
when required is aircon gas top up - i had mine done first time and was 45 for 50% fill after 4yrs/80k

not sur eon prices, would have to look at receipts and cry as i find p/n & costs - i get garage as no idea abot mechanics
