It's funny, some comments sound like people are trying their best to like it !

Honestly, seeing the car in the "flesh" the carbon really BLENDS nicely into the Black paintwork and doesnt JUST look like a seperate "block" of colour that doesnt match the rest of the car. The Vinyl doesnt look TOO much either, all being "Black" on Black. Obviously the closer you get to the car, you notice the Carbon detail alot more.

It's a REALLY nice Carbon Vinyl too (infact one of the more expensive options) and to see it up close, really looks quite stunning. Textured means you can run your hand over it and feel the weave. :)

Switched on the lights this evening in dusk/dark, to see how the rear tinted light clusters looked. Surprisingly the light output looks exactly as it did before they were tinted, nice and bright. Havent made a compromise of style over function there! The film on the roll looks Silver! Great product.

The Antenna :) Decided to leave it off initially to see how the roof looked sleek.
However I do know where the hole is/was, so might add it back (I have a stubby aerial so will look good).

Cheers for the comments, I enjoy reading other peoples take on the car and what I've done to it. Also for those that might think its OTT, if you were to see the car up close, perhaps you might change your mind. ;)

Very good point ... where did you put your areial.
You dont have the Sat Nav by any chance do you ... where did you put it??

Answered in my Post above (21). ;) Left the Aerial off initially, for a sleek roof. But still have the option to put it back on.
Most of the time I listen to my own music anyway, with the iPod plugged into the Aux Port.

Another thought, with Internet Radio Apps on my iPhone (100's of radio stations to choose from - streamed off the internet), I can listen to these with no radio static/interference, that you'd associate with a conventional car roof antenna. Also meaning I dont need the roof antenna in this case.

The film is top quality - you still see these are Red clusters (just a shade darker). Perhaps suits darker cars better.
The film gives the lights a more polished shine (much like the paintwork). More so than what you achieve with standard plastic units.

The 3rd brake light (at the top of the tailgate) is a darker plastic anyway, this hasn't been touched.

I'll admit its growing on me the more i look at it... ;)

Will stay adamant that it works because its a black car though, this wouldnt imo look as good on my car because of the massive contrast in colour.

I'm interested in the vinyl used though, from the description you've given i've assumed its the 3M Ni-Loc vinyl as thats textured as well.

I've been planning on wrapping the front panel behind the number plate for ages now and the front seat badge (leaving the grille surround crome for now) to see how that looks.

Hey n_d_fox... pleased to hear it. Thankyou. ;) ^

There's been a handful of Leon owners here who have already Wrapped their roof - mostly Candy Whites, Orange, plus a few other colours too, but none really on a Black Leon.

So on that point alone, I wasnt sure how even the roof would turn out, contrasting against an already Black car. I was thinking Matt Black for it all, but upon seeing this Vinyl in the workshop decided to go with it for a more special look.

TBH, the Front picture from a distance that I posted in the opening post shows the Bonnet as a completely different 'block' of colour, and infact you dont see any detail in the Carbon. Its not the best shot.

To see the car, you'll actually see how the Carbon blends in to the Black shiny Paintwork where they meet, YET still adds enough contrast to stand out nicely. [B)]

Hey Si, thankyou for your comment. :)

Yet to wash the car since it was wrapped, but hope to do it this weekend.

Normal PH friendly car shampoo is fine to use on Vinyl. Not recommended are the power washers, like the Karcher lance power washers - even worse a garage jet wash. (Saying this I only ever hand wash my car anyway - the 2 bucket method ;) ).

Recommended also is not to use "greasy" products like wax, as that can ruin the finish - you can get specialist products for protection for matt finishes.

Plus when applying a suitable polish/wax, you should only ever run your applicator FROM the Vinyl and off onto the paintwork. Never the other way around (from the paintwork and only Vinyl)! Reason for this deposits of the polish/wax can work its way under the edge of the Vinyl and turn it White, ruining the finish! Would mean the Vinyl would all need to come off and be re-applied!

It's all about common sense really. Use the correct products and techniques, and the Vinyl can stay perfect for years! ;)

I've updated Page 1 with more Pictures taken today.
In bright sunlight, the Carbon reflects almost Satin like.

Update Pictures in 1st Post HERE (carpark shots): http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=317902

:)

When you say how the Carbon does blend well with the paintwork and doesnt just stand out as a block of different colour, those additional pictures taken in the car park show this very well. i said it before and will say it again :D STUNNING!!!! :) [B)]

Cheers mate. Also as you see the car closer up, the detail in the Carbon weave comes out too. [B)]

Im considering DIY vinyl on my own shortly. Any ideas as to how the vinyl was fitted around the curves of the bonnet? is it cut free hand?
Out of interest are you from EK? that car park looks familiar

I really like it now, i'd consider it if i still had my old black one ;)

Sean, Yes, it is interesting how the Carbon reflects differently from a bright sunny day (looks Satin), to an overcast dull day (more Matt). Hence the obvious contrast in the Vinyl in the 2 sets of pictures (park lane to car park).

If I didn't have my Black FR, my 2nd colour choice would be a Candy White Mk2 FR or Cupra. ;)
