Hello all....I dont own a SEAT but hope to get a LCR real soon.
Anyway, my problems are with my brother inlaws SEAT Toledo 2.3 V5
I have been given the task of selling his 1999 (V) Grey 2.3 V5 which is currently on 44k miles
Had it up on ebay but no joy....managed to sell it for £2k at the weekend
It has a cpl of small niggly issues that I need help resolving before the new owner comes and collects it this weekend.
1st is the Stereo.
I had to remove the battery so that I could charge it up, all went fine and started up 1st time, however the stereo is now in 'safe' mode and requires the code.
I have the code and had a read through his manual and it states that I need to press and hold 'PTY' until I hear a beep, the I need to proceed and enter the code........thing is pressing and holding 'PTY' does not do anything, no beebs and no change in display.........any ideas?
Also the rear light unit (large piece that goes the full width of the boot) has got a big crack in it. I said to the new owner that I had won one on ebay and that I will get it replaced for him.....however the ebay seller wanted more for it then what the auction finished on (£15) and has sold it elsewhere
I have called a breakers and they want £65 + VAT
My question is, does anyone know of any specialist SEAT breakers where I may be able to get one cheap?
What other years of Toledo will fit this '99 plate? so I know what to ask for!
I dont want to spend much cash as we only got £2k for the car, we spent £100 on advertising, the new owner wanted me to put a new battery on the car because after being stood for 2/3 weeks the old one went flat (was perfect after a recharge) so thats another £40 wasted, now if I have to spend the best part of £100 on this rear light cluster thing it will mean that we only got £1750 for a really nice motor
Any help or ideas much appreciated
Thanking you all in advance
