Elbows? joints? just that these sort of issues tend to be a PIA. There will always be a weak point in the system which hopefully in the end will be strong enough to take the pressure. Hopefully this may be the end.

The alloy piping has swaged edges so the silcone should fit over quite snugly. I am going to source some mikalor clips or JCS clips which should hold them on pretty firmly.

My only concern will be the end caps on the FMIC - it was designed to a price and engineered to be part of a leaky system. I'll be going down the exact same route as Maz so hopefully between us we can iron out any problems.

Yes however the current SFS kit has been great on them so might not be as big as issue. Also the whole kit will be 60mm the pressure shouldn't build up like the restrictive OE kit?

Looks likes those clips your trailing Wednesday may become very important.

Ask F2Stu or B3lsy ;) I take it your not keen on the Bling look [B)]
Well I will see what they look like.

ive got a friend maz if you want powder coating done cheap as well
Ok cheers mate will let you know if I decide to do it.

Minor update - piping is yet to arrive.

Also secured next month some Leon door seals and Seat Sport gear knob.

Is the sport knob proper metal?

Reason why I was asking is that I find the ally knob in the Accord a PIA. Quite often its too bluddy cold or too hot! This morning (yep on a work run) it was very cold.

I remember a thread recently about 10 different things you should not do to your vehicle to help preserve its life and one of them was resting you hand on the gear stick/knob. Some posters noted they do this all the time. If its a problem then all I can say is get yourself an ally knob is it'll remind you not to on a regular basis!

GTI SpringFest Santa Pod & General Update
-----
Had a cracking day at GTI SpringFest Santa Pod. Met some people from SCN I havent met before in person - howdo DPJ and others :)

I didn't run the car as there isnt much point until I get the SFS pipes sorted. Hopefully the piping should come from SFS this week, fingers crossed! Car got a decent clean and looks 'good' but not 'great' in my eyes. yesterdays weather didnt really help but I will post some pictures up when B3LSEY sends them to me ;)

Mods for April will be Door Seals, SFS piping and Seat Sport gearknob.

Car was looking quite nice today bud.

Only thing i will say is, that when you pulled up this morning, the blue smoke coming from your exhaust concerned me.

Might be worth having a look into it, as its not healthy to be kicking out any blue smoke, and there was a fair bit there.

Hope for your sake its nothing on its way out, but fear the worst.

Thanks mate.

Definitely blue smoke? Maybe cause it was cold? I will make sure I get it checked out thanks for letting me know :)

Bit worrying indeed - white smoke may have been because it was very cold this morning and the big turbo gets hot quite quickly but blue smoke is worrying.
