Ok..I've seen some plug-in tuning modules on ebay for £20!! Any comments? I seem to recall this sort of thing costing £300+!?

Avoid at all costs!!! They are not worth it!
There is a reason why proper tuning boxes or remaps costs in the region of £300.
If you do a search there are plenty of threads on the dangers of cheap ebay boxes.

Why would you pay like 17k for a car and even consider sticking something that cost £20 into your ecu in the hope it adds some performance :confused:.

stick with the common tuners, there common for a reason mate ;).

May cause a lot of problems IE: Egine light to come on.

All these boxes do is fool the ecu in thinking the air temp is very low, so the ecu will add extra fuel, so your car will be over fueling (which is very bad) and lead to loads of problems, stay as far away as poss [:@]
