Hello,

I own a Seat Leon Cupra APR stage2+ and I want to change tyres for more grip.
As I am in France, if I want to stay in 18" I need 255/35R18 to be legal.
Has anyone tried this config ?
Does it past on Leon (I have Bilstein/Eibach B12 Sportline) ?

I think the only way to not rub is to have ET50 with 8.5" ? with ET45, 255 tyres will probably rub in fenders ?

Thanks for your help

Is the only reason you want to increase the tyre width for more grip? You do not mention what tyres you are currently running (make, type, or size) but I would imagine that better tyres in the existing size would give a greater grip increase than the same tyres with greater width. Obviously if you are currently running high quality rubber that may not be true.

I have not tried 255/35R18, but even 235/35R19 on ET45 on my Leon running Bilstein B14 coilovers give me issues with rubbing on the wheelarches when pressing on, and my suspension is not set super low.

Hi,
I run OEM size tires for Cupra : 225/40R18
and my tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Strange for you because Cupra R have OEM 235/35R19 but ET is 54 if I have read right...

@bete noir : OK I see you had a Leon Cupra R
maybe your are a little lower with B14 than me with B12 (which are only B8 with eibach spring)
I see that 235/35R19 done 25"5 general diameter and 255/35R18 done 25" general diameter so maybe less rubish in 18" ...

Did you tried it?
