Removing DSG gear knob

I've just bought a replacement gearstick for the Boc, as the one that came with mine was damaged (cosmetic) by a previous owner.

I thought that by receiving a spare one I could work out how it attached, and thus work out how to remove the existing knob, but alas no, it's still a mystery.

Does anyone know who to remove the gearstick from a Cupra/Boc?
