Hi everybody,

Here's a few pictures of my 2007 Seat Altea FR the day I bought it. It has the 200bhp 2.0 TFSI engine with a manual gearbox, quite a rare car I believe.

Since owning the car, I found that both of the rear springs were broken so I decided to replace them with Eibach 30mm lowering springs all round. The Altea FR is 20mm lower from factory so they have only dropped the car by another 10mm, however, it feels like it holds the road better now.

The original wheels were in a terrible condition (curbing, paint peeling etc) but I managed to win a set of immaculate Mk2 Audi TT wheels on eBay for a bargain price. The TT wheels are 8J wide and have a lower offset so they poke out just under 20mm more than the original wheels. I think it looks much cleaner now and definitely a bit wider.

I recently bought a badgeless honeycomb grill from Amazon and then stuck a Seat Arosa bootlid badge onto it. I've never been a fan of the standard slatted grill but also think badgeless grills ruin the look of the car. Now the honeycomb matches the bottom grill but it still looks OEM with the badge.

I'm really pleased with the result!

Thanks Rob, it should've came with one like that from the factory really, especially with it being an FR.

I'll give it a clean and try and get some better pictures soon 👍🏼

Don’t see many of those, especially with the 200bhp manual. Any other mods on the way? Stage 1 remap, black mirror caps, subtle spoiler?

Hi there,

Nice FR you get there, I got a Fr TDI 170 myself.

I currently have the same stock wheels as you had in the beginning.

I have been thinking about getting some new wheels, wanted to stick to 17 inch, but want to change the offset to get them to stick a few mm out.

Can I ask what was the exact dimensions of those TT wheels you got?

Hi and thanks man!

Yes of course - the TT wheels are 17x8 et 47 and I think the original wheels are 17x7 et 51 or 54. Just to make you aware the original 225/45 tyres appear to look a little bit stretched on the 8j but the wheels definitely fill the arches a bit more and make it look more modern in my opinion.

Hope this helps 👍🏽
