Seat Leon forward assist radar will not code

Good evening all

Just wondered if anybody has any ideas, my daughters Seat Leon had several issues (no cabin heat, ECU warning light, forward assist not available) and took it to a local garage who traced the forward assist to a faulty radar and fitted a second hand one, but for whatever reason could not get it to communicate with the rest of the car, heater matrix/exchanger buggered/blocked he refused to do that one didn't want to take dashboard etc out. Advised take it to Seat they will be able to code it.

They changed the heat exchanger/matrix (that was an eye watering price) cleared a glowplug fault that had just appeared, but as the front radar is second hand refused to sort it,

So can I turn it off in some way or get somebody to so the the fault doesn't show, (SEAT said it was a safety feature and would not turn it off, if that was the case every car would have one) does anybody recommend anybody in the Grimsby, Hull area who could do this.

Would like it sorted before she comes back home after over 8 weeks in hospital with my 7 month old grand daughter

Any help would be greatly appreciated, (bring back the rotor arm and distribution cap less went wrong with cars before computers took over)

You've got a company offering to sort your issue out properly, and you're only 27 miles away from them...... They specialise in these sort of diagnostic issues.

We wouldn’t be able to give you a price without first performing diagnostics sorry.

What we can do is assure you we’ll get to the bottom of it

Looks like they ripped you off for changing the matrix, have a search for 'changing heater matrix', the dash does not need to be removed, just the glovebox, blower motor and centre console side trim. Guys on here have done them in less than 2 hours I seem to remember.

Whilst i fully agree with you from Memory VW/SEAT recommended approach is to remove the dashboard, well that is what I have seen in the past anyway

Don't get me wrong I fully understand what you are saying but when I went to get a quote from my VAG Specialist it was very expensive and they told me (and I have seen a number of people saying the same about SEAT Garages) that VAG Procedure is remove the dash. Lucky my issue solved iteself so never had to have it done. I also know lots of people who have done it as you suggested but I am not surprised a Garage does it this way and my VAG Specialist has been responsible for building my motor from stock to current setup so I am fairly sure they are not trying to rip me off.

Anyway as you say this way is a lot cheaper and just as good.
