Hi All

I am having issue with steering since buying car 2013 Ibiza dsg 1.2 tsi i didn't notice it much at first but its more annoying than anything

I purchased a vag com from ebay with full access 17.1.0 it's obviously not original but it allows me scan car with results as below

My issue is when i try to perform steering angle sensor zero step it asks for a security access code and have no idea of what it might be I have tried 40168 as suggested elsewhere online but no joy and it locks you out from re-trying for 10 minutes.

Does anyone else here have 17.1.0 vcds or have any experience of what security access code i should be trying when trying the steering angle sensor calibration.

I know sensor needs calibrating as when driving on a perfect straight flat road the steering wheel is sloped down to left hand side a little as it is driving in a straight line and if i try and centre steering wheel the car moves to the right on the road, remember this has been tested on a completely flat road little to no camber

Tracking has been done 2 times before by reputable garage both having laser 4 wheel alignment with one having a 3D system obviously none of those "experts" have reset the steering angle sensor

It's as if the steering has forgot where it's centre point is

Your fault in Module 4b - Voltage low could be an indication of Battery Charging problems.
What voltage reading do you see across the Battery Terminals when the engine is running?

I accept that the there is a calibration error being reported, but, what makes you think that that was anything to do with you needing to keep the steering wheel turned slightly to the left to drive in a straight line?
I'd think that someone has adjusted the track rods to correct a toeing error and not bothered to make sure that the steering wheel is still straight when driving straight - that needs sorting as well as you being able to run basic settings to clear that calibration error.

Edit:- also, most VW group forums do not offer much help to anyone that has knowingly bought illegal copied VCDS software, if this was an old but genuine copy of VCDS, then it would be possible to transfer ownership from the original buyer to you via RossTech website, but it sounds like in this case you have just bought an illegal copy.

I had an inner tie rod end installed at my last service could it possibly be adjusted wrong or to the wrong length and when tracked steering wheel not centered correctly before tracking

I would think so, by the way, it is a "track rod" - a "tie rod" is a device for keeping the wishbones etc in the correct position fore<>aft.
