timing belt intervals

hey guys i had my timing belt changed at 60k miles and i was wondering when it needs to be changed again. the garage i take it to says its evey 60k but i know sum cars it can be evey 20k,

Timing belt intervals are dependant on model year and engine type etc. I'm guessing you have a pd 150 in which case it's 60k miles / 4 years, or possibly 80k miles / 4 years if it's a 2004.

As above, generaly every 60K or 4 years. I'm not aware of any VAG TDi which has shorter intervals.

I seem to remember the Sharan (or Alhambra) has a shorter interval on some engines, but not relevant to the Leon.

some early PDs had a shorter interval for the belts, but they changed to a slightly wider belt i beleive and it was reverted back to 60k, from the early 40k.

When i bought my ibiza i didnt know when the belt was done and took it to my mechanic. One of the roller type pulleys had seized in place, rubbing the belt.

What im saying is follow the routine intervals, but if you get a chance and can access it easily it might be worth checking the pulleys/rollers etc every so often just to make sure they are moving as they should.
