Water Leak coming from bonnet release lever on passenger side

Hi all. I’m new to the forum but just don’t know where I’ll find my answer.

so over the last week we’ve had some really bad rain here and last week I noticed I had some water droplets on my bonnet release lever. At the time I thought nothing of it as my girlfriend had just been in the car and I thought it may have just been off her shoes.

so fast forward a week and I get a yellow warning light saying “Error : Airbag”. Following this I went straight onto YouTube and had a look where I came across the wiring looms at the bottom of the passenger seat, so I thought I’d give it a go. This is when I found the passenger side footwell is wet through. I’ve read so many things on the internet in the past few days but none specific to Seat’s. I managed to get a photo of the drip so I’ll post that below, just wondered if anyone has any idea on where to start? Thank you so much.

Just what I was going to say! There's a tree near me in blossom and the small blossom leaves blow onto my car, and when it rains, is washes them down the windscreen and blocks the drain plug in the corner of the scuttle. Looks like it would easily fill up the corner, if blocked, and overflow into the engine bay.

Where do I find these drain plugs? Maybe I’m been blind haha 😂
The scuttle tray is at the bottom of the windscreen which has the two wiper arms coming out of it. The drain hole is located in the far corner on the passenger side. If you cannot see it, have a prod/scrape around the area as it may be covered up with dirt. I couldn't see mine yesterday when I checked it, until I scratched around to clear debris.

I would check under the bonnet too. There are holes through the bulkhead for various tube and cables, make sure they are all properly bunged up.

Just checked all the drain holes. They all seem fine.
However it rained again last night, and it happened again. Cars booked into a VAG specialist on Tuesday so I’ll keep everyone updated. The water seems to be coming through the hole for the bonnet release cable, so maybe a bungs perished or something like that.

Just got back from my local garage, they seem to think the waters coming through the windscreen since it’s not the original Seat glass indicating that it’s been changed. Booked into the VAG specialist tomorrow so hopefully will find out for definite tomorrow!

Doesn’t sound great. I would imagine to re-seal window it would be window out / new window job as more than likely crack it while trying to remove it

Accidentally make a stone crack it and replace it via your insurance if you have windscreen cover haha
