...in beautiful deep Ada Blue metallic was collected this morning - well, not quite new as it's a May 09 with 90 miles on - but for £12500 it's a steal + a really good trade in on my trusty 05 Toledo with 88k, so the dael wad done.

First impressions are entirely positive - surprisingly good ride on the 17" rims. Everything well bolted together, as I've come to expect with my 8th SEAT since the mid 90s. The engine is well muted and seems eager, with a very high top gear (27.3 per 1000) to aid economy. I have a 250 mile round trip tomorrow, so that should be a good tester.

Am I the oldest Leon TSI owner at 59?

ive got a tsi and im 21..so im younger eh lol.
i love mine.

you got any photos yet? is 'ada blue' the darkish blue one?

EDIT: re read ''in beautiful deep Ada Blue metallic '' kinda answers my question! im not on the ball tonight

Sounds interesting. There's no doubt the engine will stand that and remain reliable - vis the existing 160bhp version. If I do it, I'd prbably go to Revo as they seem the most well-thought of - unless anyone knows different?????

1.4 TSI Sport - the first long journey

A 260 mile Tyneside/South Yorks round trip today with 3 up and food on board. Supremely stable in high cross winds (well it is the North). Av 41.0 mpg which I'm v pleased with, as the car had only 100 miles on the clock at the start of journey. I'm sure it will give me +10% mpg when run in (unless I press the right pedal too much). Kept cruise on at 2500rpm (indicated 75mph). So quiet and well damped - most impressed. Relatives love the look - dark blue metallic and shiny alloys really look the part (sorry no pics yet - can't find the camera/PC cable).

ONLY COMPLAINT is the overtaking blind spot. Why oh why, with all the emphasis on safety can't a manufacturer be bothered to put the convex (or concave - never was sure which) bit on the end of the mirror to eliminate this. Does anyone have an answer (or do SEAT do a mirror but just keep quiet about it???).

Fab car all round - many more happy miles to come.

i think the face lift leon comes with bathroom cabinet mirrors attatched to overcome this particular issue.

just bought myself a brand new TSI leon shortly before i turned 19! love it! same colour too ada metallic blue! SNAP! lol

11000 miles up now and v impressive - apart from pick up from tickover which is less than smooth, and a bit snatchy on half acceleration at low revs. Sounds good and has settled to a steady 38-40mpg so far

had one of these as a hire car for work last week - really liked it great to drive and good engine. Couldnt work out how to turn off the radio though;) LOl

I have one since 2008 1.4 TSi Ref Sport and think its the best handling car I have ever had and sounds great mine has twin exhausts the Mrs has the new model 1.4 tsi aswell.

I've been banging on about the 1.4TSi for a while now - mine's March '08 - an excellent combination of decent performance and good (petrol) fuel consumption in a "different" sort of package to the usual Focus/Astra/Golf/308 crowd. I'm pleased to see that more and more folks are getting the message. After 12000 miles I'm still enthusiastic.

I've done 25k in mine now and economy has improved a fair bit over time. On a long motorway run I've had MPG in the low 50's on the trip computer.

I also haven't had a single problem with the car at all, no rattles or anything.
