There will always be someone faster at the end of the day. I am not going to lose sleep over someone beating a time I did a on the 1/4 mile a few years back now (which wasn't even the fastest 1/4 mile time anyway )

The thing is if you take a car, add technology to allow it to change gear faster than it can with manual gears, reduce the size of the body shell and number of doors, and add enough components to allow the car to perform a little better than other comparable cars (including advanced timing and less static and rolling weight) and ensure the driver weighs four stone dripping wet, you will have a faster car.

Yes might this be Al but you still ARE the fastest Cupra owner on a 1/4 mile track! You might not loose sleep but you still hold the record for the fastest KO4 at Crail. I for one was very imprest with your car and still is!

I cant be sand bagged by claims! Sorry, I also don't have any faith in Vbox or any other devise but a proper 1/4 mile track! If you want you can carry on with make believes and be everyone's pal....

BTW I took my car out with my friends Vbox Al,,,,,,,you know what happened?? I did not just brake your time but I smashed it with a 12.4......

But you get people saying that stuff all the time. And in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. On the quarter, on the day is where the proof is. Your 13 dead was a gd time.only al and Owen have hit late 12's at Crail. I reckon Dsg wud make a difference. Btw when did You get your 13?

Agreed m8, people say many things to enhance there popularity. But for some of us that actually know cant be sand bagged! sorry but cant prove my 13 so I will have to do it again, this time I will keep my sheets and post them up. I did this time late 2010.

For instance Rasin with his GTI with a 12.00 using NOS! I know NOS and how it looks like down a 1/4mile. You can see someone spraying NOS it shows the spray out your exhaust.

DSG Golfs with street tyres make mid 12's - with advanced timing and race fuel, faster should be possible

Vbox's are very very accurate, but that doesn't mean you can't fudge the figures by finding a road with a big fat hill (ie Crail )..
In the right conditions and a bit of weight loss, I have no doubt that a DSG equipped K04 on street tyres is capable of mid 12's..

You have your work cut out if you claim a 13.0! No proof of the spec of the 12.0 k04 golf and no proof of your 13.0.

People can say what they want but until it's in black and white...

Correct I can't prove that I have done a 13.0 although I know what I have done. I will go again and bring you the black white prints.

I had the full interior me, the other half and the handbag in!

I don't know if you noticed it , but you can see how erratic the times were - meaning lot of wheel spin and my thee quarters of used budget tyres.

I don't have my work cut out I have already done the work.

If you scroll up you will find the link of the 12.0 golf, please indulge yourself with the KO4 making the 12.0second on the quarter mile. I hope that is enough proof for you.

Wasn't really concerned with the golf but more the 13.0 claimed. Just couldn't see how these times could be close to the 13.0 claimed.

- just had a look at the video of the golf and yip it definitely did the 12.0 - I should have read the whole topic. My bad.

You are quite adamant about how no car can get to anything less than 12.7s etc but you cant prove your 13.0. That's all I am saying.

Don't be so concerned about people posting quicker times etc and just let it go. There will always be something quicker at the end of the day.

For me I couldnt care about If someone stated a quicker time that mine, all the best to them.

I look forward to your times this year at Crail hopefully I will have a ring side seat.
