Hello,

I have a 2022 Cupra Formentor and the control panel above my head stopped responding to my touch, which means I can't open the sunroof or turn on the lights. I read that it's a known problem and that they know about it. I also read that disconnecting and reconnecting the battery sometimes helps, but that resets the whole car and gives me errors, will those errors then clear themselves after a while? and if that doesn't help then I'll go to the service station but the car is no longer under warranty, too bad

My 2023 vz310 with the sunroof had the same problem, har the control panel changed 2 times. I still have the problem but very raerly after last control panelchange. When i have it turning ignition off and on again cures it, also opening and closing a door can fix it (opening a door forces cabin lights on and cures it also).

It hasn't responded to anything for a week now, just the green SOS light is on. I would like to try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, but I've never done that and I'm wondering what errors will appear after reconnecting the battery and if they will clear themselves or will I have to go to diagnostics?

AFAIK this panel is the component with most fails on the entire Cupra range (Octavia and Golf also). It needs to be replaced.
I know a guy who is already at the 5th replacement in 3 years (if I'm not mistaking).
I had it faulty on my previous Fromentor - it was unresponsive under 15 degrees Celsius since the 3rd month on car ownership. I lived with it like that, since I only needed the lights when opening the doors. Now on my facelift Formentor, it started misbehaving in the 2nd month already: it turned the lights on while I was driving.
Fortunately (for me) I hate sunroofs - therefore I don't have to deal with the extra-problems of unresponsive sunroof open/close.
