64 Plate FR ABS / Tyre Press/ ESP Errors

This problem is doing my head in

Dash warnings are ABS ESP and Tyre Pressure and ESP button does not function .

Ran a OBD check and left wheel ABS sensor faulty so bought a new one and before fitting cleaned all the Copper Slip off the Hub and washed out with Brake cleaner .

Cleared the fault and took the car for a spin and within 100 M fault returns

Is there a Fuse for all these sensors as cannot understand why the ABS button is not lit and does nothing

Looks like an expensive bill on the horizon

The two times I have had this scenario (that set of dash warning lights) is when I had disconnected the battery for some reason. To clear it, I drove about a mile or two, stopped in a layby, turned the car off and then back on again and they went away as if by magic.
My assumption was that one of the computers had to work out which sensors were working, then when I turned off and on again, it did a soft reset of the errors itself.

Really needs to be scanned using a fully VAG compliant scan tool like VCDS for instance.

Individual ABS wheel sensors can be checked for impedance by using a multimeter, all 4 sensors should have roughly the same impedance.

A 64 plate Ibiza is an earlier that "2017 >" car, so this thread is in the wrong section.

Something else, simple scan tools can't work out if this is a left hand front sensor failure or just an issue from that wheel's ABS sensor signal, ie maybe just a wiring issue - though a better scan tool should yield better results/pointers.

Edit:- tip, copper grease, and aluminium grease, should not be used on hubs that have wheel speed sensors - especially not any where near the rear of the hub bearing where the speed reader ring of magnets lives.

Second Edit:- the impedance of a new spare ABS sensor for my wife's 2015 VW Polo 1.2TSI 110PS is 1.4Mohms.

One other thing, the nature of how/when the fault returns does tie in with an ABS that is working and is still able to perform a "system test" as soon as the car is driven - and is reporting that this system still has a fault after you fitted a new front LHS sensor.

Booked the car in for a complete diagnostic check on tuesday to narrow down the fault then go from there

Well had the car fixed and the problem was a badly fitted wheel bearing by Formula 1 and a loose caliper bracket again F1 .

The amount of problems these guys have caused with the car after they fitted a new bearing and cv joint is unreal
