Monroe Dcc fitment compatibility question.....

My oem front dcc shocks are part number 5fa413032a , i just wanted to know if the Monroe shock marked C2516S will fit ok just incase i had to get some replacements myself ....? They are listed as compatible but was just to double check..... thanks for any input.

Monroe's own product catalog shows it as compatible. I'd say no more proof would be needed.

That is appreciated, so all those oepart numbers are all exactly the same shock......

Notice they all have "413032". First three digits usually (not always) indicates the model, like Golf, Leon, Formentor etc., so yes, they are all the same, I believe.

That depends on the part in question. For example, a 24 mm anti-roll bar may have an A at the end while a 25 mm one has B, so it signifies the diameter difference there. For some other parts, the letter may indicate an improvement when a weakness is discovered and a new spec is developed.

Monroe is an OEM by the way, so I wouldn't be surprised if those original shocks in your car are Monroes. Maybe factory orders different specs from Monroe for further improvement, for example softer settings etc and keeps track of those changes with different letters but Monroe keeps using the same part number so it is compatible with all those different ones, albeit with some minor differences, unbeknownst to end users.
