Coding and programming Folding mirrors on remote + working inner switch

SEAT LEON MK1 FOLDING MIRRORS ON REMOTE KEY + WORKING INNER SWITCH

If u want to have folding mirrors when you’re unlocking or locking your car its now possible with a cheap module from aliexpress/amazon. Mine is fully working as it should: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/D9ePLRu0fIE

Seatcupra.net thread: https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/folding-mirrors-wiring.476205/

Things u need:

- Electric folding mirrors (my car came with it)
- Folding mirror module https://aliexpress.com/item/1005006811546000.html
- 10 meters of wiring for power and signal wires (ive bought a kit with 3 colors, both 10 meters long so in total I had 30+ meters)
- 4x 5PIN relays + CONNECTORS (2 each door)
https://www.amazon.com/s?k=5+pin+relay+harness
- Crimping tools/soldering iron/wire stripper

Costs:
- Folding mirror module - €7
- Wiring €16,-
- Relays €14,-

Prices may vary. Total price is around €30/40 euro’s

IMPORTANT:

Please read through this carefully so u can route all wires at the same time trough the rubber grommets from your door and trough the dash (i forgot some, don’t be like me 😊)

Also, make sure that the mirror wiring is the same color, I’m not responsible for any damage that can occur when wired incorrectly. I took the risk and found the wires by removing the mirror cap so I know which wires to tap into. If you’re on a different car (beetle, bora, perhaps even golf mk4) those wires COULD be a different color. Please check for yourself.

Remove the fuse when installing and re-insert it when you’re completely done!

We DO NOT NEED the GREY and WHITE wire, u can cut it off or tape it together
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Yellow wire (switched 12v) goes to 75X under the steering wheel
- Red wire (constant 12v) goes to terminal 30 (next to 75x). (Use a fork connector if u don’t want to reset your trip odometer, this wire is directly connected to your battery)

- Black wire goes to ground (I used the metal door plate, removed a bolt and also used that bolt to hold my relays)

Door lock wires:

- Green wire goes to PINK/YELLOW (unlock signal) on door lock wiring loom
- Blue wire goes to YELLOW/RED (lock signal) on door lock wiring loom

(U can tap into these wires where u want,
I tapped mine around the middle of the wiring loom)

Mirror wires:

- Orange wire goes trough the relay FIRST, see pic 5
- Brown wire goes trough the relay FIRST, see pic 5

IMPORTANT:

Leave these mirror wires exposed for next step.
The relays job (next step) is to make the inner switch work when the car is on. Without the relays the wires interfere with each other and causes problems like mirror not folding, mirror glass not functioning properly, etc.

Relay 5 PIN wiring:

mirror close (+) (ORANGE WIRE) from module to relay PIN 30
Then connect relay PIN 87a to CLOSE wire on mirror wiring (brown/red)

Pin 87 stays disconnected

the relay acts like an off switch when ignition is supplied (then the switch will work again when ignition is applied and module is back on power when there's no power flowing trough relay)

PIN 85 on relay = Ground (u can connect both relays ground together and bolt it somewhere)
PIN 86 on relay = Switched 12V (u can connect both relays switched 12v together so reduce wiring)

The brown/black wire is switched 12v. The brown wire is ground

Had to copy/paste from word so format could be a bit wrong.
Let me know if u have questions or want the pdf format.
