What control module(s) were updated?
It'll either have been the telematics module, the infotainment control module or both.
I'd be surprised if either of those could cause a start stop error. Have you had the battery tested?
Thanks for sharing that thread, does seem to be mentioning the steering wheel and Telematics as another potential fix which I'll keep in my back pocket if this doesn't work.
Luckily im still in the 60 day warranty, and I also purchased a 2 year autocare warranty which will keep me covered
It's the telematics module that needs changing and software updates. The telematics module was faulty on all VAG cars from about 2020 on. Should be free. If it's a new fault may not be.
There is a load of twaddle on the boards about connect services and maximum protection. Don't. You won't get...
That's you telematics box that needed doing which causes the pinging. May be the infotainment software got updated which fixed it, then updated again. But according to @East Yorkshire Retrofits who are the experts the telematic box is what needs to be swapped out. The steering wheel thingy I've...
The Ateca is indeed fantastic but it's probably the telematics module and firmware. The early fault which it took a time to fix and Seat was at the end of the queue in the Vag group it was the telematics module. The previous owner was probably making do and not getting it fixed. It got around...
...for the dealer network. You might find a diagram and text of the antenna control unit... think that might also go under the name of the telematics box. The latter is the one that @East Yorkshire Retrofits identifies that needs the firmware update to stop the emergency call going off. It all...
Good to know and thanks for the information. I'm I correct that my only option now is to take this car to the SEAT dealer to fix? Yeah the navigation database issue makes sense as it really didn't know where I was on the road until I disabled the Bluetooth to just only use the phone for GPS and...
...model (part number) of the unit to see if it supports navigation and the presence of required hardware (a GPS receiver antenna or a telematics unit). Then it can be decided whether you would be able to do it yourself or you would need a retrofitter service to do it for you locally or...
The list of codes will always be blank… the SWaP/FoD is stored in the diagnostic gateway not in the infotainment unit
If your vehicle doesn’t have a telematics module, then you won’t have wireless connectivity
You'll have updates outstanding for telematics and infotainment. Both of which should fix your app problems
Probably got other updates outstanding for other modules
Before I had wireless connectivity without any issues, I lost the ability to turn on wifi or hotspot before the update when I did a factory reset to my unit and after that I thought with an update all will be fine but it’s not.
Now I can’t even turn of the eSim.
As I understand it this acknowledged software fault with the infotainment system does now have a curative software update. It’s available free on demand from a Seat dealer. It seemed to work for me, but by then the poor battery mileage, the exclusive touchscreen controls and the infotainment...
It's the telematics unit. I recall they need to be changed where there is an issue / updated. Effected the whole VAG range but they have weeded the fix into the product range but I guess if it's doing it, it's not been fixed. Either a firmware updated or the telematics unit replaced. The mib3...
...on the side or at the bottom. currently I have hc3 but I will try hc5. tomorrow I will go to the highway. I did not change anything in telematics either. should I? cool gadget especially since I have the KLR module which imitates the touch of the steering wheel and I do not have to hold it...
