There'll be firmware for the telematics module to do as well. Mine had to go in twice to get this sorted - all done under warranty though. As soon as I said "SOS error" to my dealer they knew exactly what the issue was as it's been so widespread.
That's the one they call the telematics box. It was that and the infotainment unit firmware. Defer to @East Yorkshire Retrofits to explain. VAG sorted out VW cars first, Skoda then Seat / Cupra. The issue ran from 2020 on. They were slow to sort it out. Quite a few people abandoned ship with the...
That makes sense. Mine didn't do this when the dealer updated it to 1890. They then updated to 1899 and it started doing it again (plus loads of other issues I didn't have on 1890). Now on 1940, everything is great apart from the speaker pops & SOS!
...with older logs to see if its always the same thing, for now it looks that way. Only this time I'm seeing more null things in 75 Telematics:

Trouble codes:

For me I have the same hardware number, but Hardware version H06, however software is 3129 which is probably why mine doesn’t work yet.
have you tried to put the left side on different screen or nothing? So that the middle version had the arrows? Also does it change when you use different...
...Since I already have problems trusting them I went to see the car and scan it with OBD11. In fact there were new errors related to Telematics module.
Technician followed the one about audio problem - B1994F6. One extra day for diagnosis, one for getting the parts shipped.
It ended up with...
...platform. That thread shows the issue came up after and mentions steering wheel changing. Steering wheel is also a variable as well as the telematics box.
The MQB Evo platform was a can of worms and pack of cards to change. Have to see how @Syphon gets on with his new car. Where I feel you...
Yes, I've heard that. My telematics was updated last year and it stopped doing it. Then I had an update to 1899 in March and it started doing it again, and still is.
My dealer has said everything is up to date so I'm not sure what else I can do.
...Newtonian mechanics. Got a big weight travelling with safety protection. Brother use to slam Vauxhall cars into barriers with dummies and telematics on them. Early days of airbags and crumple zones. Front assist is suppose to slam the brakes on these days. That's the added intelligence these...
...time the SOS in the roof would go off, it was put about that you should hide yourself. Thought that was rather dumb.
The SOS issue was a telematics fault where they need to change the telematics box and firmware effected nearly all Vag cars. Seat were slow to sort it out. You still read of...
It’s a combo of infotainment And firmware on the telematics module itself. My dealer said it’s usually 50/50 whether a firmware update fixes it or it’s a new module installed.
...had pushed its housing apart and no longer engaged the gears, I zip tied it together and now it works like a dream.
I've also removed a telematics device that has been on the car since I got it, I find it odd that someone would use a 6J as a fleet vehicle but it was there. It was drawing...
Hi there,
Since a few weeks I have the same issue. Could your dealer solve the issue? Did a telematic update do the trick?
I am already out of warranty and only want to go to the dealer if I know exactly what has to be done with the my Seat.
Thanks!
Thanks for the info. And just on a last note, every time I've changed the (maximum privacy setting) to the (show my location setting) and then switched off the engine and then on again, the (maximum privacy setting) always reappears again? This seems to be the default setting on the system and...
I've read that SOS & speaker pops need the telematics to be updated or replaced to fix it. Mines on 1940 and I still get them.
Having said that, 1940 has been rock solid for me since the upgrade in early July. It's totally cured the 'changing system settings' pop up.
