Well, i treated myself, got myself somelovely 6000k HID's, £50 and a bargain!!

Since last time speaking, wow, what a great job you've done matey. I'm well impressed lol..
Now, I'm hitting the modding scene again..... so a few questions if you dont mind me asking
HID's - how much better are they to standard and how easy to fit?? Can you link me if you don't mind?
Flipkey - Where did you get one of these from and cost if you don't mind lol?? Any pics too?

cheers mate, things are coming together nicely now it's going to be hard not to spend on her until service is done, but when it is, i might go a little crazy
HID's, well tbh i never saw the appeal when i didnt have them, now i have them i wouldnt be without them, they are massively better than the standard lights:

as you can see, much brighter and clearer, since installing them, ive barely used the full beams:
Flip key, that was an eBay purchase that i had cut then programmed myself, ive stuck a little programming video together with most of the details of the key and how to program it.

the HID's i actually bought from Edition so i cant link you in im afraid, but where i can help you is installation, its pretty damn simple, it'll only go into 1 hole sorta thing. The hardest bit on our cars is where to site the ballasts as theres no space in the bay.
Most people, either put them on the wings or take the bumper off and fit them behind the crash bar. I didnt, i put them behind the lights after taking the covers off. I will at some point resite them when i have the time and a 20mm drill bit to drill through the covers, until then, they are fine where they are

Hids ballast i just taped and zip-tied to the side of the light unit...can hardly see them and looks fine.

The difference between normal bulbs and HIDs is amazing... it can only really be appreciated once you have made the conversion yourself! Its very easy to do.

my ballasts i sighted here, perfectly safe, do the job perfectly and means i can get to the sods when i change to the slim ballasts in the fullness of time. believe me mate, im not exactly skilled with a ratchet and spanner but even i managed to do it in less than 25 mins, just apply common sense and you'll be fine:

decided to drive the car properly for once and got this, i know mpg is a BORING subject but it goes to show those bluemotion and ecomotive things are a bit of a gimmick and that driving well and keep the acclerator pedal under control is where the major gains are, the conditions where perfect day 19 degrees outside, a/c set to 20 (not in eco mode and the distance on the trip computer was from home, through northampton and down the m1 to the turn off to MK:
