Hey Guys, what do you think of ma new alloys?

17" HRS 337, with 225/45/R17 Toyo Proxes 4 tyres.

Got quite a large bonus at work so thought I'd treat myself, was getting fed up of the old pepperpot ones. :D

It was either these, or the Audi RS6 style ones, which looked a bit too 'chunky' on the toledo.

The only downer now is the brakes, the alloys have showed off their extreme rustiness. What do you all think to painted calipers? Good? Bad? Reminiscent of a pimped up corsa? :ban:

Also, if anyone in the west yorkshire / manc area is looking for alloys, I recommend Wheelbase in oldham, have a massive showroom and seem to know their stuff.

deffo needs lowering but those wheels are really nice!!!! and with 225/17s you will sooooo notice the difference in handling after the Aweful pepperpots that you swapped them for.... good skills! :)

Just thought, what will fitting these alloys do to my tyre pressures? I guess they will be higher than before as the tyres are a lot wider than before (used to be 195/65 R15).

Does anyone else have 225 wide tyres on a toledo?

p.s. The pressure on the std. wheels is 30 PSI all round.

Cool wheels them. Got 15" wheels on my leon at the mo but thinking of getting some 17s to improve handling a bit. Only problem is I have to park up the kerb every night - is that likely to reduce the life of my alloys/tyres - just trying to decide if it's worth it?

The way I see it, you only live once

Is it a high kerb? Maybe you could get away with tyres which have the rim protection on them. Failing that, maybe try some 16's.

Very nice, the car looks spotless! :)

These VAG cars seem to have tough paint. 7 years old, and still looks as good as, if not better than, a 57 plate vectra.

The secret is a clay bar, takes off all the tar, and general crud off the paint. Then go over it with the Meguiars 3 step deep crystal thingy. Happy days!!

Still lovin' it!! I'm amazed how fat I can go round corners now.

Only thing I need to do now is stiffen up and lower the suspension, and I'll have a proper beast!!

How much were the springs?

In fact, heres the link:

Ah alright, thanks for the link mate! But it doesn't look like it'll ship worldwide though. Indeed, it does look cool actually hence that's why I asked where did you got it :p

Other than that, I like your rims too, as mine is still using the 15-inches factory rims.
