Drove to work this morning and all normal. Left work, and I seem to have acquired a lit warning lamp! Manual says it's the emissions lamp.

Anyone got any ideas? Anything I can look at/do myself, or is it the inevitable trip to the stealers??

Btw, it's the TDi 170 engine, on a 57 plate.

Would a '57 have a DPF. If so, might need to take it for a blast

All 170's have the DPF -

Is it the warning light looking like a canister with little circles in it?

Nah, thankfully! I know that is the DPF indicator - living in fear of that one!!

See below - it's the one on the right.

Well, I thought it was when it first came up. However, checked the handbook, and it says emissions.

Went out a bit ago, and no light now! So will have to see how it is in the morning. Not a huge fan of my local stealer, so i'd rather avoid, but i guess if i have to, then so be it.

Careful.

I had this light turn up and needed a new exhaust pressure sensor fitted at a dealer - so keep any eye on it :)

IIRC this

is the 1st step on the DPF fault ladder.

and this

is the 2nd step. (sometimes both lights together)

3rd step is limp mode and a trip to the stealers.

I had this, i took it to the dealers and they replaced a sensor, unsure which one though sorry. It was covered under warranty.

My car went in for its 20k Service yesterday and came out with that light on! Took it straight back and they cleared the light

BTW my car is missing its DPF so it wont be the first signs of DPF Failure :p

I bet if the sensor goes SEAT Wont replace it under warranty tho as i havent got a DPF now

Well, it stayed off for 2 weeks, and then came back on. Stealers had it for an afternoon, replaced DPF Pressure sensor under warranty , and all seems good for now.
