I’ve finally had a chance to take some pictures of her!

Guys n Gals let me know what you think.

I also want your opinions of the FR Badge (rear of the car) should I attach one or leave it as it is?

Your choice really.

Ps enjoy cleaning the bugs off the front all summer.

HAHA

Ive got a white Cupra and after a 5 min journey the front is COVERED in bug juice, ive found that now ive polished the car they are a lot easier to wipe away, but still rather anoying.

Car looks nice btw, and i quite like the FR badges, depends on if you like a nice smooth boot or badges etc on it

It's not just the candy white FR that gets covered with bugs!
I have had the same with my new luna grey FR. It's a problem I never noticed with my black FR that I have just sold.

I know what you mean with regards to the :censored: BUGS!

I'm going to give Chemical Guys - Strong Wash (Bug Bugger) a try, it can be used to remove tar spots, bugs and all other road grime. :funk:

I'll post the results soon!

Ive seen that stuf before but just walked past it, i thought that because it was rather cheap it wouldn't do anyhting, jsut read about it on the site and it sounds rather good, keep us posted with how you find it. If its any good i shal certainly get some if it sames me time.

On the cleaning subject, any tips or tricks for polishing a white car? Ive got Auto Glym suer resin polish and the one your supposed to use before the resin (Cant rememebr the name) I used them last weekend and it took HOURS because i couldnt tell where i had or hadnt polished, the end result was good but i dont want to be spending hours and hours polishing the car, the GF goes mental!

I have the GF-going-mental polishing problem too.

After trying a few of the mainstream polishes (haven't bothered yet with any exotic stuff used by detailers), I've found my favourite routine is to use Turtle Wax ICE Paste Polish every 6 washes or so.
The paste version is like a proper old-school wax, it's a waxy/solid substance in a tub rather than a spray or liquid or whatever.

When first applied, it is slightly blue/green in colour so it's easy to see where you've been on a Candy White car like mine. It dries pretty fast and the good thing is it doesn't 'set' too far... you can either do a panel at a time or (my preferred method) apply the polish to the whole car and then work your way round the panels in the same order to buff it off - even in direct sunlight. Best of all, it works well on rubber/plastic bits and doesn't leave white residue; you can use it on the window seals, b-pillars, the rear door handle (and window with the handle, as that one is plastic). It shines up the black plastic bit at the top of the bonnet very nicely too. :)

Takes a bit of effort to apply and buff off, but not as bad as some I've used. The end result looks lovely and lasts a good while.

I sometimes use Carplan's Demon Shine spray for a quick and easy shine after washing if I can't be bothered to use the proper ICE paste. This hardly lasts at all but looks pretty good for a day or two and it's *very* easy to apply... just spray on and wipe over the car with a microfibre cloth. It's good for 'topping up' the shine in between proper polishes IMHO.

Oh, I forgot to mention... I found some 'insect remover spray' in Lidl - a black manual spray bottle - for a quid or so. It works surprisingly well: spray on the critters, wiping off any excess/run-off but leaving the bugs wet, leave for 2-3mins then the splats come off much easier.
Only thing is the instructions say it can damage paint if left on without wiping off or rinsing, so after use I give the front a quick going over with a damp cloth and instant detailing spray.

Is that the same stuff on the advert, just a blue liquid in a spray bottle? Someone used that on my old car when i was at a car show, it looked really ncie, but by the time i had driven home it had faded again.

The blue tint in the polish sounds rather helpfull because with the Auto Gym polish its jsut ure white and i couldn't see it at all unless i was right next to the pannel.

I brought a fly and tar remover from tesco before and when i used it it left the area really sticky after i had washed the car so i threw that away.

The Demon Shine stuff looks red/pink in the bottle and looks violently pink when you spray it on your white car (it disappears to nothing when you wipe it over though). It's certainly no substitute for a proper wax/polish but it's fine for the odd quick shine before a special occasion or when you don't have time or energy to do it properly. I reckon the shine lasts about two or three days, longer if you don't drive and/or there's no rain.

Guys its not the polish you should be worried about , you need to wax the polish , that way will stop the bugs sticking , i dont have problem with mine at all , just top your wax up every 6 washes or so and you will be fine.
but if you do get stubborn bugs , apc sprayed on in a 4:1 ratio works a treat without damaging your paintwork.

Agree there. My car was murder the first few weeks before I got round to waxing it. Since waxing it the bugs come off dead easy. (I do use a hot pressure washer though so that might soften them up:happy:)
