Evening all,

I've had a look at the forum and there a loads of responses to the lights being H1 and H7 for the main and dipped however on eBay there are loads where the sellers say suitable for different cars.

Am I being a dumb ass or are all H7 and H1 bulbs the same or must they be specific for the Leon?

Thanks

All bulbs are the same. Osram night breakers are good bulbs! I am however favouring the MTEC super white h7 at the minute, slightly less visibility, very slightly, however they look far more xenon like, picture of the mtec's:

Great, thanks for the response. Will have a look at the ones you have too!

I have Nightbreakers on every bulb in my car (apart from sidelights which are Philips BlueVision. Despite their name, they put out a great white light to match the nightbreakers). H1 for Main beam, H7 for dipped headlights, and HB4 for my fogs (MY2010 - even though the manual says H3)

Osram nightbreaker plus h7.

As you can see there is a difference between the dipped and my sidelights, however on the MTEC's the difference in yellow and white light is not as apparent.

Nightbreakers are far superior to the standard bulbs, but provide a more yellow light than the MTEC's

I had the MTEC's in my car for about a week; if you just want the white, HID look and don't need to see where you're going there fine; otherwise Osram Night Breakers or Philips X-treme Vision's are the way to go.

I've read this before, however i firmly believe the MTECs provide better visibility than the standard bulbs, but not as good as the nightbreaker plus'.

However, for standard town driving they do the job extremely well, chances are if youre out on a country road and can't see, you would put full beam on anyway, no matter what bulbs you have in!
Maybe thats just me... For £13, its gotta be worth a pop at them!

I have nightbreaker plus H7 but they still look very yellow, especially when having LED sidelights. I'm seriously considering putting HID kit on soon.

Try some MTECs first, if you havent already. I wasnt happy with the yellow of the nightbreakers either, and wanted a HID kit, but i'm happy with the MTEC bulbs, they do like quite like a HID kit (white light not blue). Might be worth a go? Considering all this MOT rubbish as well!

My nightbreakers looked yellow compared to an LED sidelight, but looked magnificently white compared to a normal sidelight. That's why I ended up using the BlueVision instead, they're a perfect white match for nightbreakers.
