  1. car wont rev above 4800rpm

    when driving along normally the car sometimes feels jerky and when accelerating hard the power cuts back at around 4k and wont rev any higher than 4.8k found it worse in 3rd gear. its a 1.8 20v totally standard engine anybody know what wrong with it? cheers steven.
