wiper or rear

Hiya folks, Done a quick search but couldn't find exactly the answer im looking for. Had an Octavia VRS before my Cupra (2001) on both models I was under the impression that on flicking the rear wiper the front would also wipe once...? Well that function was working on the cupra but...
