Here's an idea - to share some figures (and vids if possible) of your 100mph runs and list power and mods (if any).
I'll start.

Car: 02' Golf IV 1.9 PD TDI150
Power / Mods: ~205bhp / remap; hybrid VNT17; de-cat & free-flow muffler; 80mm intake pipe
0-100mph: ~16 sec
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7HQi-jIKyU
* At this time only had a tuning box (Rapid) fitted. With current setup (+20bhp) should be a tad bit faster - gotta make a new vid soon. :rolleyes:

All those powerful tuned TDI's around here and no one has ever measured a simple 0-100mph run? :(

As it cant be accurately measured.

Speed error for a start, plus getting the timing started when you start moving, then stopping when your exactly at a true 100mph [not 100mph speedo reading]

mine did get 14.8 secs to 92mph @pod tho, so i reckon 17secs cant be far off.

Sisson what power are you running i think you must be running about the same as me, to be honest i wouldn't like to say how acurate my time was either as i just timed it on a vid on my phone and its very hadr to judge especially as pasanged recorded it so its at a bit of an anle looks like the spedo is reading higher than it is!!

Yes, that's true, that's why I chose to make a vid....then edit it, it's a bit more reliable than using a stop-watch.
Then there's the speedo deviation, but at 100mph I assure it's not really significant, in my case around 1mph (GPS certified).

A drag run, like the one you made will always be the best and most accurate way to measure acceleration, but a quick vid on a nearby traight piece of road, will already give an idea of what kind performance the car is pulling. :)

I could leave a lot of other performance measured runs vids, like in-gear accelerations and top-speed run, but I guess it would be pointless.

^^^ I know it can be measured properly.

What i meant was, measurting it using a video camera and a stopwatch isn't exactly accurate.

Still a rough guess is near enough for pub talk!

I've used a AP 22 meter in the past and ended up selling it cause I found it to be a bit inaccurate... It takes time to properly calibrate a performance meter to be used accurately in a specific car.

Anyway just to have a rough idea of what the car is doing I'll stick with the GPS and a vid camera (more reliable than just a stop-watch).

The first one looks very good have you had any experience with it?? are there any other similar one that are a bit cheaper maybe as funds aren't looking great after just splashing out £4000 at Jabba haha!!

Go on then, what did you get for £4000 ?

Here is a review of performane meters.

If you want a good performance meter there is a Pro RR meter going for sale here cheap.:whistle:

That's well odd, because I couldn't get below 15 seconds at the pod yet I was crossing the finish line at 96mph. I wonder if that's got something to do with the way I was starting off the line?

Oh, and as I can reach 96mph in 15 seconds with a poor start (apparently) I imagine my 0-100 must be around 15.5? This is without NOS as well, which has yet to be properly setup.

Top-speed

What kind of top-speed (on a straight piece of road) are you achieving in you modded TDI's?
Of course only in German autobahns and closed circuit figures are allowed... :whistle:

My Golf TDI150 (205bhp): speedo 245kmh/153mph || GPS 236kmh/148mph

A mate's Golf TDI150 (230bhp): speedo 260kmh/163mph || GPS not measured

I'm hoping for 160mph speedo reading when I travel to Prague in September. :) Trouble with the Fabia is it's aerodynamic as a brick, and it makes an odd whistling sound at 140mph+

Strangely I found the same whahahaa :D

I keep thinking I've left a window open or something ;)

In NL I may have tested the speed of the car a little (before I spotted a police car near a petrol station, thus causing me to try out my 312mm TT brakes, a LOT, before dropping in nicely at the Dutch NSL behind another motorist )

I've not tried timing myself in this way as yet though..

i did do a 15.2 @ 94mph.
bu best was 14.8@ 92mph

The more wheelspin you get the higher the top end,
