000665 boost pressure regulation.......help!

Need some help! I took my car to have the driveshaft seal replaced and the intake manifold cleaned but on the way back from the garage the mil light came on which indicated that the 000665 boost pressure regulation had not been reached. Since this time all the hoses were checked and confirmed correct, the MAP and MAF have been changed, the solenoid N75 checked, the boost pressure control valve checked and still the car does not have the boost it previously had prior to being taken to the garage. I’ll get to 50mph slowly and then the car goes into limp mode. I’m pulling out what I have left of my hair……..need some advice please:headhurt:

The car was previously remapped also.

Sounds like you need to talk to the person who fitted the new turbo.

Does it feel notably down on power?

Yeah, it's really down on power at the moment. I'll get to 3000 revs towards 60mph then it'll go into limp mode. The mechanic that's looking at it at the moment is a bit puzzled. I thought it might have something to do with the remap but I've a feeling that it's the turbo. The garage that fitted the turbo are supposed to be VAG specialists but I'm not convinced by them. Hoping that it's not the turbo as I really dont want to have to go back to them.......:(
When I switch the car off then on again, the limp mode disapears but then still goes back into limp mode as detailed above......

This may seem daft...

But i had a similar issue with my 2.0tdi 140 when i purchased it they reconed the turbo cleaned all the pipes and replaced all gaskets...

still having issues when reaching around 4000 rpm it would stutter...

turned out to be a bloced fuel pump, may well be worth a check out...

Aye if it's under fuelling it will be very down on power... had a lorry go past the other day at just above walking speed - sounded rough as anything, spoke to the driver and he reckoned that it had got air locked (the pump was external to the fuel tank and the hose was definitely ropey...)

If you have vag-com you could check and see if it details the fuel injector cycle or pump pressures...

My first guess would have been the N75 solenoid, but since you say you've had that checked my next thought would have been to say turbo - possible sticking vanes?

But again you say you've changed that so now im really not sure.

Was the turbo new or second hand or reconditioned?

Where did you source it from and who fitted it?

I bought the turbo brand new from AR Turbo's in birstall then had it fitted by AVC Leeds. Will ask the mechanic to check-out the fuel filter and pump.....fingers crossed!

I ran the car until the tank was almost empty then changed the fuel filter. On removing the old fuel filter it was clear that it had not been changed for a number of years. Within half a mile of leaving the petrol (diesel) station having half filled the tank, the car was back to normal. Driving beautifully now. Thanks all for the help
