Nice car, not keen on the wing mirrors but each to their own. Wow, you've not passed your test and you have a cupra, the insurance companies will love you!

hey mate, i had my test couple days ago and failed coz of another driver! but i will get it next time, i could of avoided it!

although its not the first ideal car, the last time i saw dad before he passed away he let me drive it with him, so its got alot of sentimental value! anyways, changed the wing mirrors back now dont know what dad was thinking, re washed the car, AG super resin polish and AG shine enhancer + protecter and did the trim and front splitter i must say im very proud to have this car! far to lucky...theres alot of work that needs doing to it tbh, need to sort the body work down the drivers side someone went into him, and it really needs a respray i dont know if its a seat paint fault, but its fading down one side. the wheels need a refurb and for some reason the boot wont open! hahaha

my insurance was really cheap, £1200, but that was before i knew it had been mapped, still need to let them know, just havnt got the extra cash i know they are going to want!

P.S editting first post with updated pics

my GF is main driver, shes got nearly 3 years no claims :) was with admiral i think?

EDIT: it was with confused.com, put gf as main driver and me as named driver, atleast im still getting some no claims with admiral :). if i was the main driver they quoted me £3500. so its a big difference

is that your provisional price though? If it is, expect a HUGE increase when you get your licence!

about the paint fading, yes it's a problem with all seats that are ovni yellow i'm afraid. Only way to fix it is a respray :(

im getting the dyno plot he had done from jabbasport from the house in the next week or so and will get it uploaded. i figured hes had done a custom map, and it seems the turbo kicks in hard around 2 n half k revs.
i have noticed if i want i can get quite a few miles from a tank of petrol if its not booted around all the times. its done 80 miles on 1/4 tank..its such a beautiful car to drive, it sticks to the road like super glue, the torque its pushing through is amazing it just pulls and pulls and pulls and pulls and pulls. only down side thou is i need to learn how to control it decentlly! put my foot down and it really wants to pulls to one side ^^

well once the house is sold etc, im going to get it resprayed, but i dont think its gunna be onvi yellow as much as i like it... yellow in general is prone to fading as i have noticed. i still dont know thou, maybe electric blue, or just a nice colour that is not standard seat and looks crisp...any ideas?

how much can i expect my insurance to go up by?

EDIT: is there anything in paticular i need to be looking out for in this car?

colour wise i'd stick with yellow imo, less hassle. As for insurance, i'd say you premium is going to b £5000+. Most guys starting off driving on here with 1.2 are paying £2000+ :(

be careful with the named driver thing as well, if you using the car as the main driver but are only a named driver this is called 'fronting' and the insurance companies are now wise to this. The fact that you are 25 does help so may not be as expensive as i initially thought. Best thing to do is go on some comparison sites to give you a ball park figure of what it's going to cost.

hey just went on confused.com,

i said that i owned the car but my gf as main driver, i put i had a full lisence <1month and admiral quoted me me £2050, which means my premium will go up my £900 when i pass my test, which still is not unresonable. its not like my gf wont be driving it, she will be aswell :) shes just waiting for me to pass my test so i can take her out and teach her to drive a clutch again, she passed her test 2 years 11 months ago, and her dad bought her a semi-auto. so shes not driven a manual since passing her test, shes scared to drive it coz she knows how much it shifts..

EDIT: i get no claims with admiral aswell, so a year or 2 as a named driver, then get my own once i turned 25 and got some no claims.

i must say baezon, with the Stock mirrors on the car it all looks super sexy im very pleased, once i got the cash im getting the body work sorted down the drivers side, respray, aero windscreen washers, alloy refurb, and im going do some small bits with the interiour, speed dials etc etc.

im really tempted to sell it and get the diesal LCR.

I'm not at all eager to swap. Was just winding you up because you said you wanted a diesel. Plus mine has everything you listed to do to yours. Plus an extra 50hp lol

Yeh I'd imagine mine would be quicker. Never actually had a play with a petrol mk4
Yes it drives and sounds like a diesel. No way of changing that, nor would I want to
