1.6tdi remap & exhaust

anybody know if one is been made or being released soon, and if so where ???

And with me having the 1.6tdi would a nice exhaust system do anything for me performance wise on a tdi engine? or would it just be for the sound and looks ?

As far as I'm aware no-one has cracked the ECU code mate could be wrong though.

A tuning box should work

To be brutally honest I don't know much about diesels, although I do here a lot of people talk about a DFP delete

Not sure if you can make a diesel sound good with a loud exhaust! I own a FR TDI but the last thing I'd want to do is make my car sound like a racing tractor! hehe

Don't think a performance exhaust would do that much on it's own. Possibly a DPF delete would make it more responsive, but until someone works out how to remap the 1.6TDI, decent performance gains are going to be hard to achieve.

Just do a mufflerectomy on your exhaust, try googling it

I had a milltek on my leon fr tdi mk2 aand it made no difference, sounded a little noisier in a good way but difficult to tell unless passing a wall or similar so sound bounced back. A de dpf however is where your money will make a differemce to output but will need remapping at the same time. If available for your car that is. De dpf is a bit of a grey area as far as future mot s go though, no one is sure of the future legality of it?? Best bet is a remap when available, dont performance torque do one? Based in wolverhampton and a site sponsor??

No-one's cracked the ECU yet which means no remap, no DPF delete (they need to map out the sensor to do it properly)
There's a few tuning boxes which offer 130bhp and more torque.

My tuning box made a definate improvement on the 1.6tdi although not sure on exact figures. It was alot punchier and made overtaking on motorway effortless. Nothing compared to the cupra though haha

Does it improve or worsen the fuel economy?

I saw a slight improvement mate. Depends how you drive. When you first have the extra power you will tend to boot it a bit, but once used to it, it gets better

yeah i posted this before i spoke to powerflow about my exhaust, and powerflow only told me they could remove the rear box :/

why cant people remap the 1.6tdi if they can the 2.0tdi, i thought the ecu encryption was the same??

ive spoke to a TDI tuning company today and they have told me there will be a re-map soon but there just waiting for someone crack the ECU and i should be looking at gains up to 150bhp with my air filter and exhaust system. but in the mean time ive installed my revo air filter and had my mufflerectomy, ive run out of things to do untill a re-map is out!

Have you tried p-torque I know they do dpf deletes aswell
