I am planning to replace my 17' alloys with 19'.
Any experience regarding the road noise, will it increase (if the db rating for both tires would be 70db) ?
Without any real technical background, I would say "it all depends"...
The 'problem' with lower profile tyres is that they generally have to be stiffer in the sidewall. This can change the frequencies of noise that are generated (along with the obvious issues of tread pattern, road surface irregularities, etc., etc.).
If the 'new' frequencies happen to resonate with the panels in the car, you will get an awful din when before you didn't, even though the dB rating is the same.
Suck it and see.... and then let us all know what you found!
Cant possibly say, it depends of the wheel weight, tire brand and even spoke pattern. My intial reaction is it will make it more noisy but just dont know by how much.
I would not say the 19" on my Cupra are loud thought.
I've gone from 17x7.5 to 18x8.0 and I haven't noticed any difference in the noise levels. I've got Uniroyal Rain Expert tyres on my new wheels so nothing too expensive. As said above the tyres could make a difference, I've had different type tyres make a noticeable difference on a previous car but the tyres I replaced were known to be a bit loud.
In your country you will have most probably good, smooth roads (as we do with very very new asphalt)
But with older roads even 17' is very noisy and if 19' will be even worse, then I would better stay with 17'
