Hi, hopefully someone can give me a bit of advise with this...

I've just come in from a fairly spirited back road run in the Leon and on the way back home,
the car started intermittently losing power very slightly in the mid range.
I also noticed its now venting the turbo to the atmosphere like a dump valve when I come off the power.
There's a definite loss of power in the midrange but pulling away from a stop seams to be normal.
Possible turbo failure?.
I'll be calling the local Seat dealer in the morning as its still under warranty but I just wanted to check if anyone's had similar issues?
Its a 2008 1.4 TSI with 42k on the clock.

Cheers.

Rico.

Probs a blown seal if you can hear the turbo venting loudly!?

My 1.4tsi lost power cause the diverter valve split!

shouldn't be the turbo if anything its going to be the dirverter valve as mentioned earlier (a split) even the new piston designs can crack so it seems...

This can be checked but undo'ing the 3 torque star screws thats holding the divertor valve or better yet have the car scan for faults.

unsual though...I driven a tsi to death with pretty much all the bolt on upgrades you can have for it and not had a fail as such or this kinda issue even.

They couldn't fault it and to be honest, the car feels fine again!
I think its possibly had a bit of dirty fuel go through it which has run its course now.
I'll keep an eye on it over the next week or so but its seems fine.
I think it may have always had the dump valve noise.
I've just never noticed it because you can only hear it when the passenger window is down which isn't very often.

Do you want a forge blow off valve to make it sound better? im not using mine anymore?

its un-noticeable in the cabin unless really thraping it! Outside, it sounds like something mean when you change gear, not overly loud tho like a scooby!
